I love the way movable word marquees work; they operate on a one to one relationship, they're local, they're analogue, and they're really effective. These signs are a proto-twitter information technology and a great way to get messages into a community. However, they usually function with a very limited vocabulary of announcements and sells tactics. I wanted to borrow the form and make my own sign as a platform to send poetry into our local community.
