I like watching westerns (mainly for the landscapes) but disagree with their celebration of colonial settler mythologies, toxic masculinity, the devouring of the natural world, etc. This is an attempt to complicate the role these images play in perpetuating such violence. The images in this book come from movie stills and the text comes from a variety of voices: verbatim movie quotes, misinterpreted song lyrics, intuition, poetry, etc.
