This book was made by printing only one image. A photograph of Wy’east (Mt. Hood) was screen-printed over and over on top of itself embracing abstraction and messiness. The overlay printing was done consecutively so that the ink didn’t have time to dry. The ink would offset from the paper to the non-image parts of the screen then back to the paper with every print, which produced pictorial abstractions that did not exist in the original photograph. With every pull of the squeegee, the print was simultaneously abstracted and added to.
