Birdsounds
2019
12” x 16”
One color stone lithograph
I bought a bird watching book and noticed that along with descriptions of their behavior, size, color were these wonderful translations of their bird calls into a phonetic structure that resembled human speech. I loved the idea that language in this case was being used as a bridge to connect humans to a part of the non-human living world. The following print is every bird sound from this book transcribed verbatim in sequential order.
